I represent a national insurance brokerage that functions primarily as an independent retail insurance agency. We have a direct relationship with the businesses we service and act as a middleman between our clients and the many insurance companies we are licensed to write insurance with.
As a large independent insurance agent, I am able to provide various different options from the many insurance companies that sell their products through independent agents. I strive to create a tailored insurance program with personalized service by finding the insurance company with the broadest coverage and most competitive price for our clients’ specific risk mitigation needs.
As opposed to a direct (Geico, USAA) or captive (State Farm, Allstate) agent we are not obligated to represent only one insurance company. The ability to access various different insurers allows us to provide more options and quotes to our clients. Purchasing insurance through an independent agent also means you get an agent with whom there is direct contact. A direct representative can be vital when purchasing an insurance product and absolutely necessary when filing a claim.
For the most part, business insurance quoting does not happen as quickly as the quoting times advertised by personal auto insurance companies. Due to its more complex underwriting process some commercial insurance quotes can take as long as a few weeks or even several months (in some cases) to complete. If your goal is to quote the marketplace for the best coverage and price then you should give yourself ample time as the underwriting process varies across different insurers.
Claims are handled in-house by me and my claims team at no additional costs. I can file the claim with your insurance carrier and advocate on your behalf for a quick and adequate resolution. If you are not satisfied with the claims settlement you also have the option to hire a public adjuster or attorney.
I have been in the risk management industry for over 10 years. Insurance has been my only profession since I graduated college in 2011. I started from the bottom in this business and have had the jobs of my account team members at one point or another.
